Utspring Membership Agreements

All members must read and agree to this before joining Utspring events. These agreements form the foundation of our collective co-creation. They are not here to limit us, but to give us a platform to explore from. Have fun exploring!

What You're Joining

Utspring is a community in playful exploration of truth, love and unfoldment. We gather by water and fire in Norwegian nature, practicing the conditions under which something real can break through — in ourselves, between us, and in the field we create together.

Your membership is your agreement to participate in this. You're part of making it happen, not just consuming what others create.

Utspring is for you if:

• You want to be more fully alive and embrace your unfoldment, even when it involves challenges.
• You want a community that supports real unfoldment, not just comfort and confirmation.
• You value depth AND embodiment.
• You can ask for help when you need it — and when others need support, you offer what you can.
• You're ready to participate.

What We're NOT

Understanding what we're not is as important as understanding what we are. We're not:

• A gathering for entertainment — it's about real unfoldment, not entertainment.
• A retreat center — you participate, give and receive.
• Therapy — it's peer support, not treatment.
• A cult — we invite you to question everything, and you belong to yourself.

Utspring is not for everyone

This membership is not for those who:

• Are looking to be fixed, saved, or healed by others.
• Cannot take responsibility for their own experience.
• Require constant caretaking or emotional management.
• Are in active crisis requiring professional intervention.
• Want only comfort and escape.
• Cannot handle being challenged or uncomfortable.

This doesn't mean you're broken or bad. It means this particular container may not be right for you at this time.

Mental Health & Professional Support: Utspring is not therapy or medical treatment. If you have significant trauma, active mental health crisis, or conditions requiring professional care, please work with appropriate professionals. Utspring can complement professional support but cannot replace it. We're a peer community, not treatment providers.

The Six Principles

These are the conditions we practice to let something real emerge — in ourselves, between us, and in the field we create together. By joining, you agree to practice them. Not perfectly. Just honestly.

• EMBRACE YOUR BODY — We experience life through the body. Feel your feet, your breath, your weight on the ground. A flower doesn't bloom by ignoring its roots. This is where aliveness lives. This is where we unfold for real.
• MEET YOURSELF HERE — Get close to what's actually happening in you. All of you is welcome — the mess, the not-knowing, the parts you'd rather skip. No need to pretend or prove you're further along. Everything real begins with honest contact.
• FIELD AWARENESS — We're making a symphony, not a solo. You're part of a larger body — the people around you, the land, the atmosphere between us. Feeling more of the whole is how we create something beautiful together.
• BEYOND YOUR VERSION — Most of us get stuck in how we already see things. What's beyond your first judgement? Listen for what you haven't heard yet. Seek truth, not confirmation. Feel what's here when you stop insisting on your conclusions. That's when the real fun begins. Inspired by Peter Ralston and IKYA.
• LEARN BY PLAYING — You have to play a string before you can tune it. Stop holding yourself back. Try things and have fun with it. There is no such thing as failure — only playing, learning, and tuning from there. Inspired by IKYA.
• CREATIVE PARTICIPATION — We are all active creators with a part to play. Listen for where life is calling your uniqueness right now. It could be a sound, a question, a meal, a piece of wood for the fire, a held hand — or something completely new, even to you.

Ground Rules

These aren't principles we explore — they're what you bring with you so the exploration is possible at all.

• SELF-OWNERSHIP — Own your feelings, your reactions, your process. Ask for support when you need it, but don't hand your experience to someone else to carry.
• RESPECT — Respect each other. Respect the space we're in. When someone shows you an edge, honour it.
• CARE FOR THE LAND — This place is borrowed. Leave it more alive than you found it.

Practical Agreements

Self-Responsibility

You are responsible for:

• Your own emotional, physical, and psychological wellbeing.
• Asking for what you need (nobody can read your mind).
• Communicating your own edges.
• Choosing your level of participation in activities.
• Leaving situations that feel genuinely unsafe to you.
• Managing your own triggers and asking for help when you need it.
• Your own healing and unfoldment.
• Trying not to project your inner process onto others as blame.
• If you're in crisis, ask for support (don't broadcast unprocessed intensity).

Note: When we're vulnerable, we may project onto others (idealizing, blaming, romanticizing). Notice when this happens — it's information about your inner world, not about them.

Substances

• If you can't be present without substances, Utspring is not for you.
• Stay sober in workshops.
• Alcohol in moderation. Don't get drunk. Getting drunk in a way that disturbs may result in loss of membership.
• You remain responsible for yourself regardless of substance use.
• Try to avoid weed, as it generally limits our potential.
• Prohibited substances include: Stimulants (like Amphetamine, Cocaine, 4MMC), Opiates, dissociatives (like Ketamine, NO2) and MDMA/XTC. If you are caught using any of these at Utspring Gatherings without special permission, you may lose your membership.

Photography, Recording, and Privacy

You agree to:

• Not photograph or record others without explicit consent from the organizers and the people being photographed.
• Respect that what happens at Utspring stays confidential.
• Not share others' stories or processes publicly.
• Tag people in photos only with permission.
• Understand that collective spaces are phone-free zones.

Utspring may:

• Take photos/videos for promotional purposes (we ask for permission before sharing, or blur faces/bodies).
• Share general content from events (without identifying individuals).
• Document the gathering for community memory.

Your privacy:

• What you share in circles is confidential.
• Your participation is your choice to share publicly or not.
• We don't share participant information.

Community Rules

You agree to:

• Clean up after yourself (leave no trace). Bring all your garbage with you back home
• Share communal spaces respectfully.
• Keep outdoor noise reasonable during the night (12pm-7am).
• Help with collective tasks (food, cleanup, etc.).
• Respect the land and natural environment.

• Membership in the Utspring Circle Community App for the year.
